for making Brown Scapulars This is a free resource for making Brown Scapulars, which I produced at the request of the Secular Discalced Carmelite community in Conyers, Georgia in the U.S. who provided the specifications as well as guidance in the creation process. They reported that in the first year and a half they made and distributed 17,000 scapulars with this design (averaging about a thousand a month), and one was even presented to Pope Francis. (If you don't know what a brown scapular is, a web search will turn up lots of useful information.) These are original images, and you have permission to use them. One image is of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, and the other is two versions of Our Lady of Mount Carmel with the infant Jesus. The first version has the crest of the Teresian or Discalced Carmelites, and the second has the crest of the Ancient Observance Carmelites.
Just click on the images below to get to the PDF files. Then print the PDFs onto 8.5 X 11 inch iron-on fabric sheets, cut them apart, and then iron the images onto brown wool or whatever underlying fabric you are using, adding appropriate cords. If you haven't made any before, there are instructions for making brown scapulars on various websites.
