Hello Stutler,
after a long time I decided in going to sketch.
I was a painting restorer and I came from art studies, but never realized how beautiful is sketching.

Apart of the results, it's really incredible. Sketching makes me happier, because, you know, in these moments while sketching I feel really free.

And the more I sketch the more I like!! And my wife too, I'm lucky we are in perfect sintony and we support and encourage each other. Now sketching is part of our life.
we use to sketc everywher, everything, from simple kitchen recipes to cards, in any travel, while at work in spare time.

I thank you for insipiring me, my wife and to give and share all your hints that for me are pure gold.

And also I like japan and japanese culture, this is boosting my will to sketch.

Have a nice life,
Stefano & Rita.

Admin reply: Thank you for your inspiring message! I imagine there is much beauty around you in Italy for sketching, not to mention all the great artists who sketched there in history!

Admin reply: I think I remember you. Heh heh, HOW COULD I FORGET? Also, you are one of two people in the world I really wanted to tell that I became Catholic last year. The other was Eddie whom I worked with at Stouffers across the street from AIP. I'm corresponding with him again, and I'm really glad you contacted me. Congratulate me and say "I told you so." How have you been these thirty five years?

Hello Russ!

Here I was, surfing the net casually, seeking specific informations regarding 221b Baker Street, when I came across your website and was practically fed all the details I was looking for. Hah! I was browsing through your notes, my Sherlock Holmes novels at hand, checking out every info like a kid would shake his presents on Christmas morning. Thank you sooo much for this!

I had one last question that remained unanswered, however. Was it mentionned anywhere, or is it possible to figure out, what were the measurements of 221b Baker Street? If not mentionned directly in the books, perhaps the information can be calculated based on other measurements that would have been given (a desk, a table, anything present within the flat)?

Thank you for your time, as well as for the spectatular representation you've made of the consulting detective's apartment.

Admin reply: Thank you for your kind words. The only reference to room size I can recall is in The Adventure of the Priory School: "And yet his first action, when the door had closed behind him, was to stagger against the table, whence he slipped down upon the floor, and there was that majestic figure prostrate and insensible upon our bearskin hearth-rug." This seems to imply that the door and table and hearth rug (and fireplace) were not far from each other. That's the best I can recall!
