Comments: Wow! Just read your sketchbook book and loved it. I discovered water brushes a decade ago and love them. I had experimented with sumi-e at various points in my life and loved it, but water brushes and brush * * * were so much more convenient.
I mostly used Rapidographs till i found Pigma Microns more cost effective since I killed them by neglect. Pen and watercolor's becoming one of my favorite styles. Last May, I bought a Pentel Pocket Brush Pen after reading about it on James Gurney's blog.
That pen has been hard to master but the longer I use it, the more confidence I get in thick and thin line sketching. Your sketches and articles are a lot of help to me with it. I've used brush * * * like the Pitt Artist * * * and Tombow dual tips for over a decade but this is exponentially different.
Thanks for that bit about dealing with hook tips too. I used to get those on regular sable watercolor brushes and they always annoyed me.
Your book rocks! Thanks for sharing it online!
Admin reply: I'm glad you found the articles useful. I originally thought I'd write the book and get it published and make money, but in the end I just put it up on the web where people could read it for free -- and where I could update it as often as necessary. I think that was the best idea.

Comments: Hi Russ,
I love this logo and would like to bring it to our council for their approval for shirts. Our church name is St. Thomas More (only one "o" in More. I would love it you could generate it for me! Please let me know! Thanks!
Dana
Admin reply: OK, the new logo is finished now.

Admin reply: Oh, I see! I'm glad you could use the logo as you found it. In the past some people have used the logos without asking, so I am grateful when somebody cares enough to ask first. Use freely it with my blessings.

Admin reply: Sure you can use the logo. Since you are a school, I wouldn't charge you any extra money as if you were a business. What would you like me to provide?

Comments: Thanks for putting posters up on Zazzle! Also, there's a Zazzle account called "221b_baker_street" selling this print -- I hope it's you, but if it isn't, you can report it at content_review@zazzle.com. It's a great illustration and you certainly should be getting the credit (and money) for it.
Admin reply: Yes, that's also me. Zazzle sometimes yanks my illustrations out of copyright fears so I made a second back up store. Thanks for looking out for me.

Comments: Hi! I'd love to buy an 11x14 (or thereabouts) non-annotated print of Baker Street, but all I see on Zazzle are postcards and t-shirts -- are prints available? Thanks!
Admin reply: I guess Zazzle added prints (and lots of other new products) after I set up that page but they don't automatically add them with my art. I'll add the illustration to their posters and hopefully they will be available in a day or so. Thanks for the heads up!

Admin reply: I know there is also cashew urushi which is not poisonous as regular urushi. Maybe your best bet is to search the web for shakuhachi forums. As I recall they know where to get urushi, one type or the other.
