Yes, chanting is so GOOD for us, isn't it?

Admin reply: I wholeheartedly agree! Chanting makes prayer time longer, but the thrill and gratification is so great -- and deep -- that it's well worth it to invest the extra time!

Hello, Russ! We knew each other back in Medina, Washington many, many moons ago. I was searching the internet for some graphics to include on a plainsong workshop I am leading this weekend, and your site popped up. I couldn't believe my eyes...it's been so long. One of your graphics, the Laughing Christ. stays with me to this day; often it comes to me when I'm praying or when I wake.

Admin reply: Hi Dent, Wow, I remember Washington and the laughing Christ picture (which I haven't seen in years!) and a face comes mind when I read your name; I hope it's the right one!

Back in those days I had no idea what Plainsong was, but now I happily chant it twice a day with the Saint Dunstan's Plainsong Psalter with the Daily Office (just finished a few minutes ago as it is morning in Tokyo).

Thank you so very much for your fountain * * * info for Tokyo! I have read it studiously, especially for my first visit to Tokyo!

Unfortunately as my trip is only for a few days, I haven't had a chance to visit all the pen places you have mentioned. But I intend to do so on my next trip!

I did make a big effort to go to Eurobox. But unfortunately, after I cancelled my Sunday plans so as to make a special trip to the shop I arrived to find that they were closed. Please, if you can, update your page info about Eurobox to say that they are closed Sunday and Wednesday now, not Monday Tuesday and Wednesday. It may save some one else some heartbreak... :!cry:

Thank you for posting such an informative and useful article. I will certainly use it as a guide for my next visit to Tokyo which will be very soon, as I have so much to come back for.

I very interested in the making of the green scapular. I've searched the web and I found most of the green scapular kits are quite expensive for me to make for mission work. Can you guide me or help me with contacts there in Japan where I can get materials/supplies cheaper? I am very interested in this mission work and I can use your templates. I need the fabric inkjet printable iron-on sheets, the wool felt, and the ribbon/cord used in the right color of green. I appreciate it very much if you can help out with this. God bless you. Admin reply: I'm happy to hear you are interested in making Green Scapulars. I don't have any contacts info to pass on to you, but I must say that Japan is a very expensive place to live, and a terrible source for materials that can be found cheaper almost anywhere else in the world! Your own part of the world is the best place to start.

Just want to personally thank you for your review on both the paperback Christian Prayer and also the vinyl bound Prayer Of The Church! It was very informative and since reading it, I too have now purchased these breviaries. My old breviary cover fits into the perfectly.

I just wanted to let you know that I enjoyed your site very much, especially the sketching book. I just retired in September and my retirement plan includes learning to draw and paint with watercolors. I always thought of myself as "non-artistic". I was intrigued with art and how it was created, but I thought "talent" was needed. In college I studied photography because of my desire to be creative. The great discovery for me now is that I do have some ability to draw and paint, probably acquired from decades of capturing light in my cameras. I'm 63 now and we have a similar family history. I have been a genealogist for over 30 years, 23 years as a professional. My genealogy goes back to 1640 in Virginia and many of my ancestors lived in Frederick, Augusta and Rockbridge counties. I even have Hughes members in Fauquier and Loudon counties. Thanks for your inspirational website.

Hi, Fascinated by your stuff. I'm going to Tokyo with my family in April 2016. We'll stay in the city and travel out to places from there.
While in Tokyo I'd like to visit some places where they make fountain * * *, not just sell them in shops.
I've heard of Kubota Workshops for instance. I'd like to see if I can get someone to copy a pen feed and collar out of ebonite. I've got a sample of both. They are from a Mont Blanc Meisterstuck 149 pen with a 4810 M gold nib. These Japanese experts put a rod of ebonite into a chuck and cut tube and threading out of it to measure. Their kit looks basic but their skill is legendary. I'd like to see if someone in Tokyo can do this. If possible while I'm there.

Admin reply: You'll have a great time here! I haven't heard of Kubota, but I'm not as closely in touch with the Japanese pen producers as I was several years ago.
